We are seeking a skilled Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in masonry work, including concrete forming, finishing, and various construction techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of building materials and methods, as well as the ability to read blueprints and schematics. The Mason will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks on construction sites, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Duties
Construct and repair structures using bricks, blocks, stones, and other masonry materials
Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks to create durable surfaces
Install rebar for reinforcement in concrete structures
Execute hardscape projects including patios, walkways, and retaining walls
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various masonry tasks
Carry out plastering work to finish walls and ceilings
Participate in renovation projects by restoring existing structures
Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry, roofing, and tile laying to complete projects
Ensure compliance with safety regulations on the construction site
Operate heavy equipment when necessary for material handling
Requirements
Proven experience in masonry or related construction fields
Proficiency in concrete finishing techniques and hardscape installation
Familiarity with construction estimating practices
Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately
Experience with plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, frame carpentry, metal stud framing, and welding is a plus
Strong knowledge of restoration techniques for existing structures
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team on construction sites
Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks including lifting heavy materials
