We are seeking a dependable, experienced Building Maintenance Handyman to maintain and repair a portfolio of commercial properties.
The majority of the work involves routine building maintenance, service calls, and tenant repairs. Occasionally, when a tenant vacates a space, you will assist with preparing the unit for its next occupant, including light renovation and repair work.
Responsibilities:
Perform general building repairs and preventative maintenance
Basic plumbing repairs, including:
Clearing drains
Repairing minor leaks and flooding issues
Replacing toilet flappers and toilet hardware
Light electrical work, including replacing outlets, switches, and light fixtures
Drywall repair, patching, finishing, and installation
Basic carpentry and general repairs
Tile removal, replacement, and minor tiling work
Basic masonry repairs, including safety bollards and concrete patching
Assist with HVAC maintenance, including replacing mini-split units when needed
Pressure washing, bush cutting and painting as required
Prepare vacant tenant spaces for new occupancy
Safely lift, transport, and install building materials
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
Previous experience in building maintenance, property maintenance, or residential construction
Comfortable working independently and managing daily repair tasks
Knowledge of general plumbing, landscaping, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting
Experience using common hand and power tools
Able to lift and carry heavy materials
Reliable, organized and clean in your job
Valid driver's license
Must have strong maintenance background who enjoys a variety of work. While experience in residential construction is valuable, this is primarily a building maintenance position, with occasional unit turnover projects between tenants.
