Very limited production, only 1,015 delivered in this color with the 3S-GE engine. In today’s dollars MSRP was $55,000. Top was hand fabricated in California by American Sunroof Company, who also did tops for Camaro, Corvette, SAAB 900, and Porsche, to name just a few. Toyota reliability with the top down. Last convertible Celica. Last over-engineered Celica.
The JDM and Euro spec 3S-GE engine features a head designed and built by Yamaha. It has a 10.3:1 compression ratio and makes 177 hp from 2.0 liters. This engine was not offered in the US market. This engine became the Black Top BEAMS everyone is looking for in the Altezza RS200.
The vehicle has a new top professionally fitted with new hardware and lift motors flown in from England. Operation is like new. Everything works correctly, A/C is ice cold. New door window moldings, new quarter window rollers and regulator, replaced motors. New drive belts, fresh oil change. New rear brake caliper and pads. Bridgestone 16 inch alloy wheels with new tires.
